What’s your role and how do you support the independent dealer every day?
I am the Product Manager for AFC Business Technology which means I lead a group of Product Owners and UI/UX designers. Our team’s job is to understand and identify the pain points for our customers and then build the right digital products – including apps, systems, and/or platforms – to solve their problems and meet their needs.
I support the independent dealer by providing them with the digital tools they need to manage their floorplanning effectively with us – and this helps their business succeed. The AFCDealer platform is available 24/7/365. By giving dealers access to their floorplanning account, it provides an easy way for dealers to manage their payments and view detailed information about their floorplans. Everything they need to manage their accounts is available at their fingertips from their desktop or the mobile app.
What is one of your favorite stories of working with an AFC dealer?
Whenever we launch a new feature that addresses their needs, I see first-hand the dealer’s reaction to the solution! When we launched the AFCDealer portal, I was able to help many dealers transition to the new portal. Seeing the “Aha!” moments on their faces as they realized how the portal can help was such a rewarding and motivating experience because I knew I accomplished my goal – to help them be successful!
What is the best part of working here?
The people! One of our greatest strengths is the strong collaboration of all the team members. Our company’s former executive chairman Jim Hallett shared this quote by Harry S. Truman and I think it fits perfectly for our culture – “It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.”
What is your best piece of advice for dealers to successfully work with AFC?
We have a strong local presence and great technology tools – a unique and powerful combination you can’t get anywhere else. Our dealers should take advantage of both the people in your local community and the technology because it’s available to you. Our team has your back – in person and online.
